Residential Incentives and Programs

Utilities throughout Idaho offer a variety of energy efficiency incentives and programs to residential customers. These incentives reduce the cost of energy efficient products and/or services which helps customers use energy wisely and avoid unnecessary waste. Find your utility below to discover ways to save.

Idaho Power

Idaho Power offers the following efficiency programs. Please note that programs are subject to change at any time. Visit Idaho Power's Residential Energy Efficiency web page for the latest information on efficiency programs, tips, and tools for your home. 

A/C Cool Credit
Receive a $5 monthly credit for allowing Idaho Power to cycle your home's central air conditioning system during some June, July and August weekday afternoons. This reduces system demand during periods of extreme peak electricity use.

Energy Efficient Lighting
Take advantage of reduced pricing at area retailers when you purchase ENERGY STAR® certified CFLs and LEDs, LED fixtures and high-efficiency showerheads.

Energy House Calls 
If you live in a manufactured home heated by an electric furnace or heat pump, you may be able to reduce your energy use and lower your monthly bill with this free package of services, which includes duct sealing and LED installation.

ENERGY STAR® Homes
Builders can receive an incentive for each all-electric home built to meet Northwest ENERGY STAR standards. Northwest ENERGY STAR homes are at least 15 percent more efficient than homes built to Idaho energy code.

Fridge and Freezer Recycling Program
With the Fridge and Freezer Recycling Program, an Idaho Power program partner will pick up and recycle the unit for free from your home.

Heating and Cooling Efficiency Program
Earn incentives for the purchase and installation of energy saving equipment and services for heating and cooling your home.

Home Energy Audit
Receive a professional in-home energy audit, recommendations for increasing energy savings and a variety of energy efficiency improvements, such as energy saving light bulbs, for a discounted price.

Home Improvement Program
Earn incentives for home improvements such as insulation and windows. Qualifying measures may vary from home to home. Single and multi-family homes qualify.

Rebate Advantage
Earn cash back when you purchase a new electrically heated ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured home.

Weatherization Assistance for Qualified Customers
If you have an electrically heated home, you may qualify for free energy efficiency improvements that increase comfort and help reduce energy use. Call your local community action partnership (CAP) agency to see if you are income-qualified.

Weatherization Solutions for Eligible Customers
If you have an electrically heated home and do not qualify for Weatherization Assistance, you may still be eligible for free energy efficiency improvements that increase comfort and help reduce energy use.


Rocky Mountain Power: Wattsmart Energy Solutions for Idaho

Heating and Cooling
Lower your heating and cooling costs and save big with wattsmart energy upgrades. Earn cash back on efficient heating and cooling equipment and services.

Clothes Washers
Upgrade to an efficient clothes washer and receive up to $50 cash back on your purchase. These high-efficiency machines use as much as 40 percent less energy and water than conventional models, helping you to save time, energy and money with each load of laundry.

Energy Efficient Light Bulbs
Participating retailers offer discount pricing on qualified LED (light-emitting diode) bulbs. There’s no easier or quicker way to get on the path to greater home energy savings. Make the switch to ENERGY STAR® rated LED bulbs and use up to 75 percent less energy than traditional bulbs. Look for in-store signage to find specially priced bulbs.

Windows
Looking for a window of opportunity to garner serious savings? High-performance windows are the answer. Rocky Mountain offers cash back for new windows that can reduce heat loss in the winter, keep your home comfortable in the summer, lessen noise and lower your energy bills.

Heat Pump Water Heaters
Save big when you upgrade to a high-performance heat pump water heater. Earn cash back on your purchase and watch your water heating costs drop. Qualified models can save the average household up to $200 a year on electric bills.

Blue Sky Renewable Energy
For as little as $1.95 per month, you can participate in Rocky Mountain's Blue Sky renewable energy program and help bring new renewable energy facilities on-line.


Avista

Rebates: Idaho
Avista offers rebates on windows, high efficiency HVAC equipment, heat conversion, and smart thermostats. Vista Avista's website to ensure you meet the minimum requirements to quality. 


Bonneville Power Administration

Residential Energy Efficiency
BPA helps its customers meet their energy-efficiency needs through targeted offerings to multiple sectors. The residential sector delivers program infrastructure and measures to increase use of energy-efficiency measures in the Northwest, and help reduce electricity consumption. Intermountain Gas Company

Whole Home Rebate
Intermountain Gas is offering a $1,200 WHOLE HOME rebate for homes that are ENERGY STAR certified and have a HERS (Home Energy Rating Score) of 75 or less.

Energy Efficiency Rebate Program
Save big on a number of energy efficient appliances including high efficiency furnaces, water heaters, and fire places.
